Listed building approval was gained to enable the existing Grade II listed blacksmiths barns to be carefully taken down and rebuilt re-using the existing external finishes. The entrance link infill was constructed from found site dig random stonework a modification to express the later addition to the buildings ongoing history . The design created a traditional accessible "Home for Life" dwelling built to enhanced modern eco standards. The build featured on the TV programme Building the Dream and the sympathetic, unpretentious and superbly rebuilt new dwelling overseen by the owner a retired master builder was a particular favourite of the shows host.
